This subject deal with the application of the laws of mechanics and physics to human performance, to achieve a greater understanding of performance in athletic events through modeling, simulation and measurement. Areas in the application of physics to sport, physical principles such as motion, resistance, momentum and friction in sports are also discussed.
Issues in Sport, Exercise, and Outdoor Activities
The various problems being faced by people during the performance of sports, exercise and outdoor activities are discussed along with trying to find out possible solutions for these.
Research in Sports Science and Exercise & Health Science
The students will be exposed to the various types of research that are being carried out in these disciplines and learn how to design, implement, and analyze the data on a project carried out by themselves.
This subject will introduce to the student the basic concepts and theories associated with movement learning and control. The factors that affect the production of motor behavior, the basis for movement skill and the variables that can be made use of to enhance the level of skill are also discussed.

The student would come to understand the effects of physical activity on health and also how the health can affect physical activity. This would be of use in making optimum use of health in enhancing sports performance and also of exercise in improving health.

The motor control and learning group is primarily concerned with how human movement is organized for the performance of skilled actions.

Deals with the effects of psychological aspects on the performance of sports activities.
