First Year Modules

During the first year subjects focus on building up the basic knowledge and skills needed to study politics.Compulsory core modules may include Classical Political Thought, Understanding Politics, Research Skills and literacy: Philosophy and Method in Social Sciences, Politics as a Vocation.

Third Year Modules

In the third along with students will undertake an independent research project (a dissertation) on a topic of their choice.
Compulsory core modules may include Contemporary Political Theory.
Optional modules Controversies in Contemporary Democracies, Critical Approaches to Security, Democracy and Democratisation in Contemporary Europe, Gender in World Politics, Global Capitalism and Migration, Global Governance, Left Parties and Protest Movements etc.
